3. Do I feel comfortable, heard, and respected by this therapist?

Your level of comfort matters. Trust your body’s signals. Safety is essential for healing.

4. Does their therapeutic approach resonate with what I’m looking for?

If you’re unsure, ask them to explain how they would support you and what a typical session looks like.

5. How do I feel leaving the session?

Do you feel understood? Supported? Grounded? Or confused, dismissed, or rushed?

These questions can help you tune in to what genuinely feels right for you rather than choosing based solely on credentials or convenience.

It’s Okay to Change Your Mind

Sometimes a therapist feels right in the beginning but no longer aligns with your needs as you grow. That’s not a failure—that’s evidence of your self-awareness.
